McGill University’s Osler Library invites you to a brief presentation and tour of its eighteenth-century collection. A sample of original published books and manuscripts will be available for consultation on site during the event, including midwifery texts by Madame de Coudray, Genteki Kagawa, Hendrik van Deventer, and William Smellie; tracts related to Mary Tofts; letters by Herman Boerhaave; selected volumes of Chaumeton’s Flore Médicale and Diderot and d’Alembert’s Encyclopédie; and works by Descartes, Voltaire, Locke, Newton, and Bacon.

We invite you to visit the McCord Stewart Museum’s Wampum exhibition, featuring remarkable objects from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and beyond.
